ClimbCast is a trip-planning tool for adventure athletes. It pulls data from various sources and translates them into plain-language, objective-specific guidance tailored to the specific place and activity you're planning.
How do I use it?
The home page offers three ways to start planning: Forecast a Specific Objective, Forecast a General Area, and Find Best Conditions.
What mountains and routes are covered?
A growing library of objectives across the western United States and British Columbia, including alpine peaks, rock crags, ice crags, trail systems, and ski resorts.
Where does the weather data come from?
Blended data from multiple models: Open-Meteo, NOAA / National Weather Service, MET Norway (Yr), and Environment Canada.
How often is the data updated?
Forecasts are generated fresh on every request with no caching layer between the user and source models.
Is this free to use?
Yes, it is currently a free independent project in beta.
